This assignment is a contextualized picture- self-narrative- of what is a Social Service Worker (SSW), what does a Social Service Worker do (scope of practice) and who do we serve. For this option include and or layer your piece with the many different important aspects of who a Social Service Worker is. Consider all the different types of work we do. Are some more important than others? Are some more or less important in certain situations? How have they evolved and how do you see them continuing to evolve?
Think about the source(s) of some of these values that you hold (experiences, family, culture, societal discourses). Think about some of the ethics of practice that might be embedded in your values. Think about how your values are or were invoked and/or challenged by something that was discussed in class (either by students or instructor) or that you encountered in your readings.
In addition to the creative arts piece please create an “Artist statementâ€: a brief statement about your work – make the connections back to course material for me. Please submit (dropbox and digital art space) no more than 1 page summary (double spaced 12-point font) of your collage. Your summary will discuss how your art addresses some of the above questions.
