Chapter 1 taught us all about the Sociological Imagination and how to use this to view society. You applied the sociological imagination to yourselves as college students in assignment #1.

For this 2^nd assignment, you will need to use your sociological imagination to analyze a population in society that few people care about, the prison system, specifically incarceration rates. Keep in mind, the sociological imagination does not encourage us to make moral judgments.

 

In filling out the chart, students will explore differences in incarceration rates and consider why these differences exist.
